Here's my prediction.
Unless the Oilers get a defenseman that actually knows how to make a good first pass, they're finished. Now granted, they're the Oilers, so they'll fight hard down the stretch, but without that defensemen I'm afraid it just won't be enough. I hope Lowe finds that guy. Or guys. We need more then one.

They also better sign Smytty before the trade deadline. AND give him the 'C'. Gator (Smith) doesn't deserve to wear it. He's terrible...as is Bergeron....as is Greene....as is Tarnqvist. The only worthwhile defenseman they have is Staios and maybe Smid.
O my dear John, there is so MUCH more to say. The only thing I will comment on, however, is that Kipper was excellent as usual, but to say he was the only difference could only be said if you didn't actually WATCH the game.
Goalies are the difference in 1 or 2 to nothing games. I think the 4 goals our Iginless Flames scored had a lot to do with it, not to mention the beatings 2 of the Oilers received throughout the match. (So much for that new 'tough' guy). lol
Other than than, I'll let the Flames play, the NHL standings, and the Oilers position (10th) do the rest of the talking.

Whoa, hold them horses Steve. Before I bow down and hand you bragging rights I'm first going to have a good laugh before I schedule you to see a shrink.
They'll get the defense they need and by season's end the Flames will once again be looking down the muzzle of the Oilers butts.
Phaneuff and Goddard are so strong. Wait, come back. Don't skate away. I'll be gentle I promise.

I'm with you, John. Praying for something on the defensive end of things. I love the boys, I love Roli but it's going to take something more to take them to where we all know we want to be...and about that battle of AB game, I'm with you. By the way they outshot (and outplayed) the flames, there's nothing other than kipper that kept that game the way it was.
so here's the question...what's the fix? Who's out there that we can pick up? What do we do?
