Hey John, I did some research on that a few months ago. A good book to skim over for others pop-Jesus' is American Jesus: How the Son of God became a National Icon. Also Mark Driscoll did a sermon that is on Itunes. Go to Mars Hill Seattle church, and listen to the first sermon in the Vintage Jesus series. Good luck researching heresy.
